The foundation received its waterproofing coating today. This will keep all that nasty rainwater out of our basement. Fingers crossed.
Cool bubble stuff that channels water away from the house to the underground drainage.

Very cool. The forms have been removed from the basement foundation walls. The foundation is out in all its glory. Most of it will end up underground, or covered with a stone veneer, so look at it while we can.
I even ventured into the basement! Now that was cool. King of my castle – the one that Carol and I are building.
Check out this gallery of shots.
A little video adventure into the basement.

We stopped by late in the day on Saturday, May 18 to see what had been completed. This was the end of the second week of construction.
Wow! That hole in the ground now had concrete walls that will serve as the foundation of the house. The footers had forms filled to the top with concrete and there were crisscrossed supports bracing the forms everywhere. It is so cool to see this happen.
We met our new neighbor just to the west of us. Very nice lady. We are looking forward to getting to know her better as we continue to visit and then move in.
