May 25 – Grading Taking Shape

May 25 – Grading Taking Shape

by Em Are · May 26, 2019

Saturday May 25, Memorial Day weekend, shows a lot of progress. The entire rough grading and back-fill of the property appears to have been completed. You can now see how the house will sit on the land in relation to the neighbor’s houses.

Carol is intro’ing the view as we walk up the driveway to the house in the video below.

We can see the property, but we noticed some markings on the floor fill in the basement. There is a wet area in the north west corner and it is outlined in red. Hopefully this means that the construction project manager has noticed and is marking it to be addressed. I’ll need to check in with him after the holiday and see.

Suspicious red marking on basement floor fill. Looks wet!
Egress window ready for alcove shell.
Basement looking good.
Looking east across basement to neighbor's house.
Garage floor filled.

We drove to the back edge of the development (as it is today) and checked out the community firepit. It’s in a great location with open space to the south of it. Lots of benches. Just a short walk from our house. It appears that the walking trails connect up to this space.

Carol and I talked about the open space in this area of the development and how different it is likely to look in 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years.
